小澄正雄 Masao Kozumi
Masao Kozumi was born in Kumamoto in 1979. After complete his study at Toyama City Institute of Glass Art, he moved to Tokyo and worked in glass studios.
He now lives and works in his studio in Gifu. He has received a numbers of prizes for his works, in which he uses high iron content glass to create modern glass work that is reminiscent of antique Edo period glasswares. Koizumi utilizes the Katabuki method, or moldblowing in English, which is a technique where one blows the molten glass within a mold attached to the end of the blowing pole.
